Tips on fighting chronic stress
We all live in a fast paced world, where we lack time to do everything we want. Studies indicate that people are sleeping less, working more, and yet feeling unhappy! Why? This dissatisfaction comes from our inability to handle so many tasks in our life. No wonder, people remain tired, irritable, and unhealthy. Soon, this tiredness turns into chronic fatigue, which is evident in the way we lead our life. We start making mistakes, feel more disappointed with current situation, and remain tired all the time. If you are also experiencing some of these symptoms, it’s time to slow down and find ways to deal with chronic stress in your life. Listed below are few tips that can help you deal with stress in your life:
1) Get plenty of sleep
Health experts recommend getting at least 7-9 hours of sleep everyday. If you sleep less than that you are actually putting your health at a significant risk. If you think that it is impossible to sleep for that long, the tiredness may soon set in as chronic stress, which will have many side- effects on your health and well being.
2) Learn meditation
Most of us are so busy in life that we hardly have time to sit quietly and relax. However, you can still manage to steal some moments from your busy routine provided you prioritize your tasks. Spend some time with yourself when entire family is busy in watching a movie. Get a comfortable chair for yourself and relax for ten minutes. If you start relaxing like this everyday, you may soon notice how calm you have become. You may be thinking clear, and your brain starts feeling more relaxed. You need to gradually increase this time to at least half an hour everyday.
3) Get a body massage
Massage helps you feel more relaxed. It also stimulates your muscles, refreshes your body, and helps get rid off stress. No wonder, many athletes prefer to get a massage before and after an event.
4) Exercise daily
Many people think that exercise is tiring, and thus should be avoided after a busy day. But, in reality, exercise liberates endorphins, which help you feel energetic and charged up. You should avoid over-exerting yourself if you want to get maximum health benefits from exercise.
5) Drink plenty of water
You tend to feel more lethargic if your body is dehydrated. Therefore, drink more water to help your body remain lubricated and energetic. Water also helps in eliminating toxics from your body, which help you feel better.
